Martina McBride: Solid Gold
I have said it a zillion times in my articles
on Martina McBride, but I just cannot say it enough... she remains at the
top of my "greatest female country music artist" list. With each
new album she releases, she just gets better and better. As I have often
mentioned, Martina has a knack for choosing wonderful songs that address
the modern woman's stresses in today's world. And once again, I stand and
applaud her courage and strength... it is a good thing that we have a
sister in Nashville who will stand-up and speak for us. And like all of
Martina McBride's albums this one is pure solid gold!
TRACK ONE: So Magical
Irish influenced song that makes one stop and
reflect on adulthood... that as we get older we need to just let go and
enjoy each day, as we did when we were a child.
TRACK TWO: She's A Butterfly
Brings light to the subject of a young girl
becoming a woman and knowing that she can do anything in this world.
TRACK THREE: City Of Love
A song that addresses how a couple can build a
strong relationship and face any problem that comes their way, if they
truly love each other... love is all you need.
TRACK FOUR: This One's For The Girls
First single release from the album. Good message
to all we girls that despite the difficult times in our lives, we can grow
and learn and all be beautiful women.
TRACK FIVE: How Far
A look at a relationship and knowing that it
must end, despite all attempts to hang on to it, and having to walk
away... and wishing that it could be saved with a just some simple worlds
from the other person.
TRACK SIX: Reluctant Daughter
Wonderful look at a woman pulling away from Jesus
and feeling like He is not there for her; but not wanting to be forgotten
by His love.
TRACK SEVEN: Wearing White
Very nice song that says we cannot always
change our past, but we should all be given a chance to redeem our lives
and find love and happiness.
TRACK EIGHT: When You Love Me
My favorite song from the album. Beautiful
track about how a man's love can make a woman feel so complete and free to
be herself.
TRACK NINE: In My Daughter's Eyes
The song that Martina stated is very close to
her heart, because of her own daughter. This a tune about how a daughter
can bring out the best in a Mom and what a gift a child is.
TRACK TEN: Learning To Fall
A woman's look at heartache and putting up a
wall around her heart... how the right man can bring that wall down and
rescue her like a Knight In Shining Armour.
TRACK ELEVEN: God's Will
Wonderful song that makes one think about why it
seems like some people are faced with countless struggles in their life,
yet remain so close to God. That often our Lord puts very special people
in our world, for a very short time, yet they teach us so much about what
is important in life.
TRACK TWELEVE: Over The Rainbow (Live)
Everyone's favorite from Judy Garland and the
Wizard Of Oz movie. Martina, however, does the finest version of this
popular favorite that I have ever had the pleasure of hearing.
